What is the best home remedy to get rid of acne scars?
Right now I’m confused on what I should do with my acne scars and it’s annoying. I’ve heard remedies like using lemon juice, cocoa butter, ice cubes, etc. What is the most effective way to get rid of these acne scars at home?
1.Step 1
Wash your face with soap and water twice a day and immediately apply moisturizer. Washing your face more than twice a day can result in dry skin that can become flaky and cracked. Washing the proper amount helps remove unhealthy oils that prolong scarring.
2.Step 2
Scrub your face at night with warm water and immediately wash with cold water. Warm water will open your pores. Cold water helps close pores, which in turn keeps oils out of your skin so your pimples and scars become healthy.
3.Step 3
Apply vitamin E oil to your skin once a day. Vitamin E provides a natural oil that helps restore elasticity and regenerate skin cells. Applying more than once a day can leave your face oily and oversaturated.
4.Step 4
Purchase scar removal cream from your local pharmacy. There are several over-the-counter options available that help erase scars. Ask the pharmacist for recommendations before you purchase a cream. Read the instructions carefully as some of these treatments contain chemicals and oils that may be harmful if used improperly

What is the best way to treat acne? Does chocolate attribute to it?
I saw on Proactiv’s website that chocolate isnt as bad as most say. It isnt as acne causing. I dont use Proactiv, I use Neutrogena. What acne treatment works best? Also, does toothpaste work?
I wash my face… it helps a little. What else should I do?
Chocolate has no effect on acne (unless perhaps if you’re smearing it on your face and leaving it there, haha). Toothpaste sounds very much like an urban legend, and I’ve never heard of it as a treatment.
Keeping one’s hands off your face (even in class, where one’s head feels so heavy) and washing several times a day with a mild soap to avoid "burning" the skin, is best. I found this difficult myself.
In those days, I would soap and lather my hands, wash them, then lather again and wash my face, rise with a splash of water around lunch time. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon, I’d do the same but skip the soap on my face.
Acne is a normal side-effect of puberty, and there are a myriad of ways your body will change in this phase. Keeping your self healthy with a good sweaty work out each day will cause your pores to open to eject water (sweating), which can flush some of the oils from the skin. Be sure to take a shower afterwards to rinse off this effluent, using soap to emulsify the oils.
Treating Acne Tips And Guidance
Acne is a condition that needs proper and timely care and cure. Acne can be troublesome and stubborn; at the same time, it can be a cause of acute depression. So, treat it before it becomes a severe problem.
Treating acne is not a very easy task. Before you are going in for a treatment, you should try to retrieve detailed information from the various sources about the different acne treatments available.
The three different acne conditions are mild, moderate and severe and should be treated in three different ways. Treat mild acne by first washing the area with warm water and soap and then apply a cream that incorporates Benzoyl Peroxide or salicylic acid.
If your acne is in moderate stage (that is when it covers half your face), then you can see a dermatologist in order to handle the situation quickly. The treatment can be a light therapy or prescription treatment like an antimicrobial and Retinoid cream. You can also go in for an oral acne treatment.
As your acne reaches the severe stage, the pimples and zits become deep, inflamed and cyst like. These can leave ugly marks on your skin and so you should always try to treat your acne problem before it reaches this stage. Oral antibiotics and medications such as Accutane can be used at this stage.
Different Acne Problems And Their Cures
First, try to understand which parts of your body can be affected by acne, usually the face, arms, neck, back and legs are the worst affected areas.
You can use Benzoyl Peroxide for acne treatment .You can obtain it from any pharmacy at different strength-level starting from 2.5%. It helps unclog blocked pores, which reduces the activity of the sebaceous glands, resulting in lowered levels of sebum.
You can also go in for a Retonoid treatment. These are very effective in curing black heads, white heads and comedonal acne.
Then there are popular acne medications prescribed by doctors like the Menocyline, Tretinoin, Tetracycline and Accutane, etc. You can also go for a natural acne treatment. You should exercise regularly and have a balanced natural diet. The best way to get rid of acne is to treat the cause of acne.
You can remove acne scars by using homemade chemical peels or go for a doctor-administered session. Nowadays, many people are opting for laser treatments like the Light, YAG or carbon dioxide laser. However, the best way to keep acne problems at bay is to attend to them at the right time and obtain the right information for its treatment.

What is a really good remedy for acne?
I have extremely sensitive skin and even the "sensitive" formulas still irritate my skin. Any suggestions would be helpful, budget-minded suggestions would be easier to implement…
If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

What other options of birth control are there to treat acne?
I was put on Diane 35 birth control, both as a contraceptive and as a acne medication.
It worked well, but it’s one of the most expensive birth controls and isn’t covered by my school insurance.
Is there any other type of birth control that works well for acne, but isn’t as costly?
I have pretty bad skin, I was put on Accutane but can’t take it any longer.
Several doctors I have talked with told me that it is caused by an imbalance in your body and diet. You have to change your diet and be very patient to see results. That is the best way and the cheapest. Most often, we have spent our life having an acidic diet while in reality that is a very bad thing. It is better to have a slightly alkaline diet. Also, if you drink diet sodas, you are robbing your body of important minerals. All of the chemicals in our lives cause severe imbalances. Once you get a balance back into your body you will start seeing a change and over time start to feel like a new person. And you won’t need chemical scrubs soaps and tons of chemical washes to clear up your skin. Remember, you are what you eat. While Jane covers treating the surface symptoms, it will not make the problem go away. The cause is what you need to attack. I know people that use to have your problem and they have gotten rid of the problem through changing your diet completely for the better.
Darlin12 answered with drinking unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. Drinking this in quantity like she says does help. It causes your body’s chemical balance to be slightly alkaline instead of acidic. But you still have to change your diet and feed your body in a healthy manner. Vinegar helps with a lot of problems internally. It is amazing how healthy the body gets when allowed to have the chemical balance that it is supposed to have.

Acne Remedy?
Does anyone know a nice home remedy that works very very quickly within days preferably + I’d hate to have to go to the store.
take only the white of an egg and juice a lemon into a bowl and put it in the mixer until it is white and fluffy. put in on your face and neck and let it sit for 15 minutes or until it completely dries. wash it off with warm water. pimples and pores will look reder than usual but after an hour or so your face wont be red AT ALL (thanks to the egg white) and your pimple will be gone the next day (lemon juice). i swear by this mask. i use it 4 times a week and my skin has never looked better!
good luck
