Treatment for Acne Scars

Acne is a source of stress and embarrassment for many people. Scars may develop after severe cases or when the acne has been forcibly picked or scratched. Many people are anxious about having a permanent mark left behind. Don’t worry. Techniques for treating acne scars have been developed. This article will briefly outline some of them.

Actually, the only sure method of acne scar treatment is prevention early on. In general, you should never pick or squeeze acne, especially inflammatory acne or “pustules”. Squeezing forces infected material deeper into the skin, causing additional inflammation and possible scarring.

But even if you have a scar left behind, there are many acne scar treatment options.

Dermabrasion is a treatment that has been around for a long time. This approach to treat acne scars uses a rotating wire brush or spinning diamond instrument to wear down the surface of the skin. Originally, sandpaper was used to scrape away damaged skin, allowing new skin to grow in its place. Now, dermabrasion is most effective on shallow acne scars. The procedure takes less than an hour and each treatment costs around fifteen-hundred dollars.

If you have serious scaring, you can try laser resurfacing which is a newer resurfacing technique, with the same effects as dermabrasion. Laser resurfacing uses lasers to remove the damaged skin and tightens the middle layer, leaving skin smoother. Penetration depth into the skin is more easily controlled with a laser than with dermabrasion and other methods. This technique is very focused on the specific area and the treatment can take anywhere from a few minutes to a whole hour depending on the size of the area covered with acne scars.

Chemical peels are quite popular right now. This procedure is relatively inexpensive but is designed only for the lightest of cases. This resurfacing approach uses acids to remove the damaged skin.

Surgical methods of scar tissue removal may be effective for some people who are willing to run the high risks of side effects. Infections and color changes in the skin are some of the most frequent outcomes. For those who are unwilling to run the risk and have only mild acne scars, there is a new option for treating acne scars and it is completely natural and safe for everyone.
Sandalwood is very effective in treating acne scars. Mix it with some rosewater and apply it to the scars. Leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning.

Sage and Aloe Vera have healing properties. Apply Aloe Vera directly to the skin. Seep sage in hot water, cool and then apply.

Creams and acne blemish treatments can be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars. When choosing an acne scar treatment, you need to consider the severity of your acne scars, the type of acne scars you have and the type of skin you have. Mild scars can often be successfully treated with bleaching creams that are bought over the counter.

One thing you should not do is load up your face with masks or fancy lotions – these won’t help and may irritate your skin further, making the scars red and even more noticeable.

Treat Your Skin to After Shave

If you one of the many men and women who shaves every single day, or even every other day, you could benefit greatly from using after shave! Honestly it is really something that you should consider; it could make your skin much softer! If you are a lady that shaves her legs and other things, you have probably never considered using after shave, since you probably use a cream or moisturizer.

In my opinion, by far one of the best things about using after shave is that it produces a cool refreshing feeling after you shave. After shave makes you smell fresh and makes your skin smooth, it can even make other people find you more attractive. A person who smells nice demonstrates that they have good personal hygiene, which is always important when trying to make a good first impression! After shave is used after shaving, as the name implies; you apply it directly to your skin, to help provide relief for that after shaving burning feeling. For men, it will give your face that smooth, shiny, polished texture that is necessary for many jobs, and also very appealing to many people!

An additional important benefit of applying after shave is the anti bacterial agent that is contained in many after shave lotions. The anti bacterial agent will eliminate many of the bacteria present on your face so that you do not have to experience clogging of your pores. If you are one of the many people who do not use a face wash regularly, you may suffer from some common problems such as acne or things of that nature. The astringent contained in after shave can help with skin conditions like acne, if you are someone that suffers from skin ailments, you should consider using a product such as after shave. Products such as these will allow the removal of any dirt and bacteria and help to prevent skin rashes. Most people find after shave very convenient, since it eliminates some of the extra steps need to maintain healthy and beautiful skin, and minimizes the appearance of skin diseases like acne.

So many people don’t realize the benefits to using after shave, and they just shave and then do nothing to treat their skin after. Aftershave is probably most important in the fact that it can also eliminate razor burn! There are many other serious after effects from shaving as well that you will find are quite easily treated from just using an after shave lotion. If you happen to cut yourself, which most of us experience more frequently than we would like to admit, after shave will help as a sealant for the wound and help to prevent further injury or bleeding. This is yet another added benefit about after shave.

If you are one of the many people who find yourself getting a lot of razor burn while shaving, the easiest thing you can do to prevent this in the future is to start using after shave, it can help your skin heal naturally, without experiencing painful ingrown hairs. Most after shave lotions will also contain a natural skin healing agent such as aloe-Vera. Aloe is very effective in eliminating redness from your face.

Perhaps the most important reason to use after shave is to eliminate those painful and unsightly razor bumps and those pesky ingrown hair skin conditions! After shaving you may be one of the many men or women who get small red bumps. After shave will stop this from happening and help to keep your skin smooth and healthy! There are just so many more benefits to using after shave than I can name here- There are just too many to list! But these are in my opinion, the best reasons to use it. You can always find it for a relatively low price at any store, in different varieties, all with different names and different scents.

So don’t let shaving stop you from enjoying living in your skin, try using after shave the next time you shave, and you will wonder how you have been shaving any other way! One such product you may be interested in trying is Calm After shave by L’Avenir, it will help soothe you skin and heal that unsightly razor burn. Calm After shave also contains Capislow which has been proven to help slow hair growth, and cause hair to grow back slower and finer, now who wouldn’t want that? From a Nurse: How to Treat Pimples on the Cheap and Keep It Natural

It’s easy to treat acne cheaply, simply, naturally yet effective, at home. This simple, cheap and yet the best, alternative acne treatment has worked for many adults, teens and children with acne, zits, pimples, or blemishes. A cheap home remedy and well worth a try on your sensitive skin.

You want to be good to your skin and never pop or squeeze a pimple no matter how tempting.

This natural treatment will work better if your skin isn’t already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment.

So to start you’ll need to pick up some raw apple cider vinegar. You’ll want to use the best, most natural, unprocessed, raw vinegar you can get. You can find this type of vinegar at whole foods markets like Whole Foods and Wild Oats chains, some small whole foods outlets and some health food stores.

Look for the Bragg brand of apple cider vinegar. It’s raw, unfiltered, organic, unprocessed and the purest, most natural unrefined vinegar. Stay away from the refined, processed vinegars, both cider and distilled. And distilled white vinegar should never be used on your skin or for eating for that matter.

You’ll need to make a fairly strong solution. Use half, or 50%, raw apple cider vinegar with half, or 50%, pure, clean, preferably distilled or filtered water.

Test an area first by applying to a small area of the skin for a few hours to make sure you aren’t sensitive to it in some way. If you don’t have any redness or obvious sign of skin irritation then go ahead and apply it to the rest of the area.

You should see the results with improved skin within a few days.

Once your acne has improved you can keep it at bay with a milder solution of 20% raw apple cider vinegar and 80% pure, filtered or distilled water.

Prepare a fresh solution each time for new acne outbreaks or more stubborn pimples.

Make sure you don’t use the cheap, processed, refined, mass market vinegar. Bragg apple cider vinegar comes in two sizes, large and small and costs less than $3. The small size should be fine. It’ll last months. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated but I always refrigerate mine.

Always consider changing your diet to lots of fruits and fresh veggies and fewer junk foods. You no doubt know what those are! You want to work from the inside out too.

With this cheap, safe, simple, natural, effective, alternative home treatment for acne and pimples, your skin should be well on its way to recovery.
