Treat Acne and Inflammation with Essential Oils

Chamomile (GERMAN**, preferable, but also anything labeled Roman, Blue, Wild or Morrocan)
Calendula (also called Marigold)

Remember, acne is inflammation, the body’s method of dealing with damage or foreign particles. Inflammation can be a great mechanism and is necessary to fight bacteria in clogged pores. However, I like to lessen the visual effects of inflammation and irritation on my skin with essential oils (EOs). I feel that the added antibacterial and antiseptic properties EOs provide make up for the possible compromise to the effectiveness of my body’s own healing process. But hey, I’d rather have the healing be invisible than glaring red.
